Using Account Import to Add Associations (in Bulk):
The Account Import Screen can be used to quickly add Associations in Bulk.
1: Adding Associations Only:
- If you upload a list to the Account Import screen that only has the following columns:
- Account ID
- Any Association column:
- AssociationCode, AssociationNote, AssociationNameFormat, AssociationLine1, AssociationLine2 and AssociationSalutation
- Your Field Mapping would look something like this:
- When you go to the "Match Existing" tab the "Match/Create Accounts" button will NOT be there. Instead the button will say "Import Associations".
- Once you select the accounts you want to associate you can click that button and your accounts will be updated.
- Since your list has the account ID it will match right way and go very quickly.
2: Adding Associations As you "Match/Create Accounts":
- With this option you can upload the Associations together with Matching/Creating the Accounts.
- There are two ways to do this, however you CAN also do BOTH:
- A: Have an additional column in your spreadsheet with the Associations
- When doing it this way you can create different associations for each account
- Field Map your Association column like this:
- As you "Match/Create Accounts" the Association Code in the column will be added to those accounts.
- B: In the "Match/Create Accounts" Screen there is a place where you can put in an Association.
- When the account is Matched/Created the selected Association will be added.
- In the screenshot above the place to add the Association is circled in blue.
- If you press the hammer (circled in black) it will keep that Association for subsequent accounts unless you change it.
- Highlighted in yellow shows the Association coming from the original spreadsheet (which is option A).Remember this for both options (A&B):Even if you are not Creating a New account and just Matching it, you are still ADDING the Association to the account!
- A: Have an additional column in your spreadsheet with the Associations
3: Using the "Associate Selected Accounts" button:
- You can add any Association in Bulk to any of the account listed in your spreadsheet.
- This is similar to to using the Search Accounts screen's "Associate" button.
- You must be in the "Match Existing" tab.
- You must have already "Matched/Created" these accounts or have have the AccountID column populated with the correct Account ID.
- Select the "Associate Selected Accounts" button
