Adding an Address

An address is a location that mail is sent to for this account. For any single account you may have any number of addresses. Example: business address, home address, summer address.

  • Open the appropriate account.
  • Open the contact information expander.
  • Right click on the grey header area and select 'New...'
  • Select the Address Type. (Home is the default with a personal account, main is the default with a business account)
  • Enter the information house number, street
  • Enter the zip code. The city and state will get filled in automatically.
  • Fill in the care of/company name for addresses with more information.
  • Click OK to save and close the address entry screen.
  • Inactivating Addresses
  • Marking an address as inactive allows you to exclude these addresses from a mailing, by querying for anyone whose default address is not marked as inactive. Inactive addresses display in italics.

It is advisable to inactivate an address rather than delete an old address. The reason is multi- fold:

  • Often, people send in checks with a former address.
  • If a prospect on a list you receive may not match your records exactly because the address is not the same, you would know that it is a former address and not a new person.
  • The old address is not lost; you can still query for an inactive address.
  • When updating your records with a new address, be sure to mark the new address as the default address on the account.

To Mark an Address Inactive

  1. Right Click on the Address
  2. Click Mark Inactive
  3. Set the new address as the default address:
  4. Click on the image35 pen in the left hand corner of the accounts screen to edit the account
  5. Select the new address from the default address drop down list
  6. Click on 'Apply' to save your changes.

COLOR CODES:

The city and state fields are based on the zip code entered. The following color codes are used to highlight the city to acknowledge further input.

  • White - Only one possible city per zip code entered. No further input is needed.
  • Yellow - There is more than one possible city for the zip entered. Yellow indicates the main city, other possibilities are found in drop down list.
  • Peach - Acceptable Red – Unacceptable

ADDRESS QUICK ENTRY BAR:
Address quick entry will save you time when entering address information. Once you understand how the data is saved based on the address entry form, you can use address quick entry to cut down on address entry time.

In the longer orange line at the top of contact information fill in address and zip. Example: 300 Main Street 08701. City and State get added automatically.

Click on the black arrow http://support.admng.com/files/images/downarrow.jpgor press enter twice. The parse data screen will open.

If this is the new default address - Check off Make Default and there will be an option to Inactivate Old. Select that checkbox if the previous default address is inactive.
