Creating an Account

Article Summary



Accounts should be created using Quick Account Entry which is accessible by:

  • Going to Accounts – New Account

OR

  • In the Search Accounts screen click on the "Quick Account" image137 button (lower left corner)

OR

  • In the Open Accounts screen click on the “New”  button.
  1. Choose Account Type – Business / Personal
  2. Company Name – only fill in if account type is Business
  3. Enter last name. For a business account, last name can be left empty
  4. Fill in Titles, first names
    • In-active indicates that this name on the account is no longer active. This name will not show on any letters or mailings although it can still be used in search criteria.
  5. Maiden Name - fill in wife's maiden name if provided; select the checkbox if the wife goes by her maiden name (Uses Maiden Name). Example: Ms. Joy Berk-Braun
  6.  Create Primary Individuals- check to automatically create primary individuals on the account for the His and Her Name that you enter on the account. There is a user preference to have this checked by default.
  7. Association – If account is linked to a particular association choose it from the drop down.
  8. Address – Fill in address information.
    • When the account loads into admire the address entered will become the default if the default checkbox is checked
    • Care Of, Country: if out of United States
    • Quick Entry Bar (orange text bar): type the street address, a space, the zip code and click tab
    • Click the Add More button to add additional addresses.
  9. Contact Info – phone numbers & email addresses
    • choose the phone type or leave it as selected
    • enter with no formatting ex. spaces, dashes or parenthesis
    • enter the email address in the email textbox
    • Click the Add more button to add additional phone numbers or email addresses. 
  10. Update Existing/Create New Account:
    • You can click on the “Search” button to make sure this account doesn’t exist in admire yet.
    • If there is an existing account, choose the account and click Use Selected. Update the relevant information and click OK, otherwise click Add New.
  11. The account screen will open:

Enter all other relevant information that you may have for this account, such as addresses, phone numbers, associations, related accounts etc.
