Filter Sections:
Filter Tip #5:
The "Filter Section" you choose is one of the most IMPORTANT parts of your filter, it is NOT random:
- This is located on the Sidebar (boxed in red) on the left.
- It shows which filter sections are shown on the report and are available for filtering.
You can check the "Display All" box to see all the sections possible (circled in blue above).
- Only the available sections will be white (the rest will be grayed out).
- Sections that already have a filter on them will be boxed in yellow (although it may not be available on this report).
- Select the section you want to limit/narrow down and then Select the Basic tab to start filtering.
- In the filter sentence that reads "This criteria set will query any recordswhich", "any records" = Filter Section.
- If you selected "Accounts", any records = any account
- If you selected "Pledges", any records = any pledge
- Changing the "Filter Section" changes the whole meaning of your filter.
- The "Filter Section" narrows down the drop-down list (the Entity Dropdown - 1st white box).
- Different Entities are available on different Filter Sections.
- If a section is NOT filtered then ALL the records that pertain to that section will appear.
The Entity Dropdown:
Filter Tip #6:
The Entity Dropdown tells Admire which Entity this Filter Section should be filtering:
- This is the drop-down boxed in purple below:
- The list of entity options that are available depend on the "Filter Section" chosen.
- Some Entities are available on multiple Filter Sections, but not all are.
- When an Entity is the same name as the Filter Section, the filter is less limiting and is filtering on the Filter Section itself.
- Example: Under Filter Section "Accounts" you select entity "Accounts"
- By selecting an Entity you have already created a filter and you do not always need to go any further in your filtering by selecting a Field below the entity drop-down.
