Some things you may need to ask them before you start:
- What size are their journal pages going to be?
- Are they using backs of pages
- Is the pricing of the pages the same as last year?
SETUP
Go to Ad Admin
- Make sure you are on the correct occasion at the top of the page.
Go to Ads Configuration>> Ad Sizes
- Press the Load in the middle of the page and then press Copy From and copy last year’s ads one at a time. (You can also create new pages by just putting in the page name and price)
- Then you can make sure that the page names and pricing are correct then you can press edit on the page you want to start with to edit the measurements as follows:
On the Page Layout tab
- Page Height\Width – almost always 8.5 x 11
- Text Width – how much text you can type across. Usually it’s the page size across minus a half an inch on both sides for a margin.
- Text Height – how much text you can have going down. Measure from the end of the logo on top until the footer on the bottom. You should minus .25 from top and bottom for the margins.
- Qty Across – the number of ads across the page
- Qty Down – the number of ads in length of the page
- Vert\Horiz Space – the amount of space you want between ads when you have more than 1 ad on a page. It should usually be .25 for both but you may need to adjust it when you’re testing if things don’t look right. If it is a full page ad then both spacing should be set to 0.
- Uses Front\Back – should be check depending on if there will be backs for those pages or not.
On the Front Tab
- Text Top – Measure from the top of the (8.5 x 11) page until the place where the text will start.
- Text Left – Measure from the left of the 8.5 x 11 page until the place where the text will start on the left.
On the Back Tab
- Same as the front tab but you only need to fill it in if you are using backs.

- On the position option click more layout options: horizontal should be on alignment and should be centered relative to page. For vertical: minus the TOTAL vertical spacing from the text height and then divide that by 3. That number is the spacing for each section of 3. The absolute position is one measurement of the section plus half of your vertical spacing. below margin.
- The next line is two measurements of sections plus your vertical spacing divided by two times 3.
