Article summary

Sending Messages from the Office:

  1. On Admire, go to Action Pad >> Notifications >> Classroom Notifications

    2. Find a classroom to send the message to using your preferred method of searching. Either by student, teacher, class or grade.

If the message is specifically for the teacher, regardless of which class she’s teaching at the time, you can switch from the Classroom Notification tab to the User Notification tab and she will get the message the next time she logs in – even if she does not log in until the next day. Session-based notifications will expire once the session is over.

Tips for searching:

  1. If you get a phone call to dismiss a specific student, you can search by student.
  2. For a specific teacher or class, search that way.
  3. If you need to send to all teachers in a specific grade, or to multiple grades, use the grade option and select all applicable grades. All the teachers for those grades will then show up in the “Send to” section.

(Note: there is also an option to search by location if the action pads are programmed with specific

locations. This is helpful when there is no class in session but a message needs to be sent to a specific room, or if a teacher did not yet log in but has a location set for her session.)

  1. Select the student/teacher/class/grade
  2. Type the message in the text box or double-click on the quick note >> Choose the Priority (default is Medium) >> Click Send

The frequency of which a message will beep to the teacher depends on the message priority. To configure priorities, go to Action Pad >> Setup >> Notification Priorities.

  1. The message will appear bolded in the sent messages tab on the right. Once the message is read by the teacher, it will no longer be bold.
  2. If the message hasn’t been read yet and is no longer relevant, you can right-click on it >> press cancel.
  3. You can also edit a message if it hasn’t been read: right click >> press edit
