Registering Students 

Registering students refers to putting students into a term so that they will “be available” for actions specified by a given term. 

For example, to enroll a student in a particular course, they must first be registered in the correct term.

If the student has not yet been created see Creating a student.

Note: To quickly register current students for the coming year's term when only the grade and class is going to be changed, use the advancement wizard.

When creating a new student, the term is entered when entering the new student.


Registration Maintenance Screen

To register or update the registrations of more than one existing student go to:

School > Registration:


The 'Registration' screen will appear.

Click on Add Registration:

Choose a list of students to be displayed by using the down arrow or smart search tool:

Click 'search' to load the students to be registered.

You may choose to filter for specific students. 

Example: You may want to search for all registrations and be prompted by Grade. (See Report wizard for more information on filters.)

To use a filter check off the filter box and click the down arrow or smart search icon to find a filter:


To create a new filter click on the rightmost down arrow and choose New:


Once the filter is created, you can select the filter name from the Filter drop down box for future queries.

Note: If you don’t filter out specific students, all students in admire, regardless of their student status

will appear and selecting the appropriate students may be time consuming.


Once the list of students is displayed select the students you would like to register.

Select the students you would like to register by checking off the box on the left hand side of each of the student accounts.

Select All - will select all student accounts listed 

Deselect All- will unselect all accounts

Invert Selection- will select all accounts that are not checked off


Once you have selected the students to be registered, select which Term, Grade, and Class, they

are being registered for:

The student's registration status can be marked as Accepted, Application Sent, Applied, Rejected, or Withdrew:


To complete the registration click Process:


Note: By clicking Process, you are setting up this registration information for the students previously selected. So keep in mind, you may want to create registrations more than once to make sure that the students are registered in the correct grade and class.

Note: You can edit an individual students’ registration if accidentally they were registered in the wrong grade/class by selecting Update Registration and choosing the student with the registration you want to update and which field to update.

To double check that registration was created successfully, open the student browser and search for the student.

On the student's record, the registration will now show in the top right of the screen:

Note: Any current registration will appear in bold.


Registering individual students

Registering individual students that already exist in admire can also be done by opening that student from the student browser, and in the top right corner where registration appears, right click and add/edit registration as desired.
