The Build Options:
Filter Tip #13:
You can access the Build Options by right clicking on the boxes after the Operators:
- Click the white check on the green circle to enter your choice.Note:Not all Build Options are available for each Field as it does not apply to it. Unavailable options will be greyed out.
Date:
- Allows you to find the date on a calendar.
- Use to make sure the date is in the proper format.
Numeric:
- Allows you to calculate an amount and put the value in.
- Allows you to switch the format (i.e. from the regular number to number with a decimal).
List:
- Should be used whenever available, as this give you the REAL options your field may equal.
- Allows you to search from your REAL Admire data for the option you want. This can help if data is misspelled.
- Will NOT be available for Names (LastName, FirstName) and numbers.
Presets:
- This inserts a code for a prefilled field:
- Current User - will pull data from the current user
- One Month/We
- ek/Year Ago - pulls data from the previous month/week/year.
- Today/Yesterday - pulls TODAY/YESTERDAY's data
How the Preset Code Works:
Code: ${DI0Y0M1DI0}
Example: 2Y3M5D = 2 years, 3 months and 5 days ago.
When reading the filter sentence, calculate the date of the code and then read the sentence with the date.
Changing the number at the end of the code: ${DI0Y0M1DI0}:
This changes the whole code to mean "in the future".
- Y = Years
- M = Months
- D = Days
Example: 2Y3M5D = 2 years, 3 months and 5 days ago.
When reading the filter sentence, calculate the date of the code and then read the sentence with the date.
Changing the number at the end of the code: ${DI0Y0M1DI0}:
This changes the whole code to mean "in the future".
Fields:
- Allows you to compare two different fields in Admire. Comparing what was entered in 1 field to what was entered in the 2nd.
- The field options available are based on the Entity you originally selected.
Prompt:
- Allows you to reuse the filter, prompting for variables so you can run the filter multiple times with totally different criteria.
- Prompts on Admire:
- on the Search Screens - Prompts show on the screen
- in Report Wizard/Mail Merge - Prompts pop-up when you run it.It is important to know:The words you type in the box next to Prompt do NOT mean anything to Admire.
It is just a label for you to know what the prompt is asking for.
- To combine prompts (1 white box for 2 fields) Copy and Paste them so they are exact - then they will combine.
- The Field must be of the same type to work.
- Prompt Choices:This is only available when there is an option to pull from an Admire List (List as explained above).
- This gives you the Admire Data as a drop-down to choose from.
- If you do not check it off, you can still type in the box but it will need to match exactly to what is in the database.
- Option does not exist for these types of fields: Name, (LastName, FirstName) Date or Amount.
- The Fields:
- Date - gives a calendar
- Amount - gives numeric keypad
Using a Prompt with Advisor:
When automating a report via Advisor, you need to "Parse Variables" to select the prompts PRIOR to running the report schedule.
Reminder:
If you do a Prompt with Like as an operator, you still need the % for it to work.
Our recommendation: Label your prompt as a Smart Search to remind yourself to put in the %

Filter Tip #14:
Keep this in mind when filtering for Dates:
When Filtering for DATES:
From this Date: > Greater Than - it means- a date that happened after this date.
Until this Date : < Less Than - it means - a date that happened before this date.
Using the <= & >= operators include the selected date as well.
Here is the classic Date Prompt:Use the instructions above on building prompts to create this.

Date Entered VS other Dates:
Date Entered = this pulls from official Admire time on your computer, you cannot change it, the system logs it automatically.
Other Dates = dates you choose e.g. Pledge Date, Payment Date
