- Associations in the Admire rebuild were created to help identify the connection or link this account has with your organization.
Examples of Associations are: Grandparent, Volunteer, Potential Donor and Medium Level Donor.
- Note: For clarity and ease of use the Admire rebuild does not have Association Groups.
- Associations can be only be placed on the ACCOUNT level.
- Associations always show up on the account anytime you look at it. In the screenshot below you can see how this would appear (associations are boxed in red). They are different then Admire Tags which are used as an informal note added on the fly to a piece of data.
How NOT to Use Them:

Custom Field = Stores data ABOUT the account/pledge/payment
Association = Tells what is the RELATIONSHIP of the account/pledge/payment
Association = Tells what is the RELATIONSHIP of the account/pledge/payment
Do NOT use Associations as a way to store more data ABOUT the account.
For that you would use Custom Fields.
Associations are meant for marking the account with its relationship to your organization, telling you WHO they are.
