What is a Campaign
In the new Admire each fundraising operation is called a Campaign. Every campaign goes under one of the Campaign Groups. All pledges and payments that are generated from a specific campaign are entered into the Admire database under the campaign so that campaigns can be tracked and compared. Campaigns generally run over a certain time frame.
Campaign Dates
When you create a new campaign in Admire we ask for three dates. Each of these dates will affect different aspects of your campaign. It is important to understand what each date means in-order to choose the proper date.
Start Date & End Date
Admire looks at the start and end dates of a campaign to determine if the campaign is current. If the current date falls in between the start date and end date of the campaign then it is considered current.
Admire’s default is to display all Current Campaign on the Campaign Screen and on Pledge/Payment entry screens. Past campaigns are accessible but do not display automatically. Additionally you can choose a Current Campaign to display data on the Home Screen Current Campaign Display.
Therefore it important to choose a start date that would allow you to see your campaign as current when you want to start entering data on it. The start date should NOT be the date of the actual event. For example: you Dinner 2024 Campaign start date should not be the date of the Dinner because you DO want to enter pledges and payments before the actual event.
The default in Admire is that the Start Date is the day you create the campaign. The End Date is not required but we recommend that you put one in to avoid having numerous current campaigns.
Event Date
This should be the date of the actual event. For example: the actual date of the Dinner or Parlor Meeting. Admire uses this date to when comparing campaigns from one year to another. In this way Admire can compare the two campaigns day by day, and you would be able to see for example 6 days before this campaign last year what came in in comparison to this year, or this much came in 10 days after the campaign last year compared to this year.
However, this field is not required.
