What is a Pledge?
A pledge is a commitment to make a donation or payment. Pledges in Admire store information about the commitment, including:
The Campaign
Pledge date
Due date and/or billing schedule
Payment information if paid.
All payments in Admire must be linked to a pledge otherwise it will be considered ‘unapplied’. Unapplied payments cannot be Recorded to Accounting.
How to Create a Pledge
A pledge can be created from several places:
Top Bar
From the Account
From the Payment Entry Screen.
Create a Pledge From the Top Bar
Click from the top right corner of the Admire screen.
Select Pledge.
Create Pledge Screen
The Create Pledge Screen opens.
Now you need to fill out the required fields.
Date - will default for the current date, change as needed.
Use to create a pledge with an installment plan.
Campaign - all pledges in Admire must belong to a Campaign, choose one from the dropdown list.
Note - this field is optional, you do not need to fill it out.
The other fields are Custom Fields that are linked to pledges - they are all custom to your organization and optional.
Click or to save and keep this screen open to enter another pledge.
Create a Pledge from an Account
Go to the Account.
Select from the top right.
Follow directions above under Create Pledge Screen.
Create a Pledge from the Payment Entry Screen
When in the Create Payment screen you have the option of creating a pledge as well.
If there is no other open pledge on the account, the Create Pledge button will appear.
If there are open pledges on the account, only a + sign will appear.
Select either button or .
The Create Pledge screen will pop-up.
Fill in the required fields.
Date - will prefill with the current date. You may change it.
Campaign - you can use the dropdown to select from the list or to create a new one.
To access more pledge fields click on .
This will open the full Create Pledge screen.
Click when done.
